Shipping via 3rd Party Service Provider

Alibaba provides self-owned shipping service such as OneTouch and Cainiao. For shipping via 3rd-party service provide, here is the business procedure and how to use the API.

Quick Start

1. Pre-requisite - the order has to be “undeliver” status (trade_status from?alibaba.seller.order.get )
2. Upload shipping supporting doc (evidence) via API:?alibaba.order.picture.upload
3. Submit shipping through API: alibaba.seller.order.shipping
4. attachments must be the attachments uploaded in step 2
5. service_provider must be one of the service provider code that Alibaba.com supports, all supported service_provide codes can be queried via?alibaba.seller.order.shipping.channels
6. logistics_type must either be “POST” (Postal) or “EXPRESS” (Express)

Order Status Flow

After submitting shipping information, order status will change from “Waiting for Shipment” to “Delivering” / “Waiting for Delivery Confirmation” / “Partially Delivering”
Details:
1、After tracking information submitted, Alibaba.com will update order status according to the tracking information from service provider, including the shipment time. However, if the tracking information is still not available from service provider after 48 hours, then the time of submitting the shipping evidence will be the shipment time.
2、After submitted all batches’ shipping information, order status will be “Delivering” / “Waiting for Delivery Confirmation”.?But if only submit shipping information for some batchs, the status will be?“Partially Delivering”.
